Guidelines to Directive 2014/34 EU - ATEX 'Product' Directive

In November 2022, the fourth version of the guide on the implementation of EU directive 2014/34 on the harmonization of Member States' laws regarding equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres was published.
The guidance document clarifies certain aspects and procedures regarding relevant equipment and protective systems used in potentially explosive atmospheres. The purpose of the guide is to help find a common understanding of the Directive and its provisions among interested parties such as government representatives, stakeholders and manufacturers, professional associations and bodies responsible for setting standards. The guide contributes to removing barriers and challenges to the free market for equipment and protective systems within the scope of the Directive within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA).
